Da Nang Port Joint Stock Company starts the 2nd phase of Tien Sa Port Expansion project

With the aim of becoming a modern container port in the region with the ability of accommodating large size vessels, on 31st July 2016, in Da Nang, Da Nang Port Joint Stock Company has officially started the 2nd phase of project of Tien Sa Port expansion.

Da Nang Port JSC company is the investor of this project which is implemented in Tien Sa Port (Tho Quang Ward, Son Tra District, Da Nang), with total area up to 60.000m2. When the project is completed, the expected total port area, including existing warehouse, ICD system, shall be up to 31ha.

This scope of project also includes construction of 2 berths with length of 310m and 210m respectively. In addition, QCC crane system and accompanied technical infrastructure shall be equipped. Concurrently, the project shall meet the demand of serving container vessels up to 70.000DWWT, passenger ships up to 100.000GRT. The total investment of project is over $50 million, being implemented in the period from 7/2016 to 6/2018.

After being competed and put in to operation, this project shall contribute to improving the capacity of cargo reception up to 12 million ton/year, ensuring the capacity of accommodating vessels up to 70.000DWT.

Concurrently, this project shall contribute to comprehensively developing logistics system for serving seaport, which is the basic for Tien Sa port to become modern container port in the region with capacity of accommodating large size vesels.

In addition, the project shall also contribute to ensuring the overall plan of traffic development of Da nang by 2020, orientation toward 2030 be in comply with economic development strategy of Vietnam in general and of Da Nang in particular.

 After being put in to operation, Tien Sa port shall become important gateway of Da Nang, leading to the development of logistics services which shall satisfy the demand of Middle Region and West-East Economic Corridor.
